Pennswood Village

Newtown, Pennsylvania

ABOUT THE PROJECT

One Space. Multiple Venues. Endless Possibility.

Pennswood's dining renovation reimagined the traditional senior living dining model from the ground up. Rather than a single, fixed restaurant concept, the design introduced a Food Hall approach anchored by distinct micro venues, each with its own identity, menu focus, and operating rhythm. The result gives the operations team the freedom to staff and program each venue independently, scaling service up or down based on the time of day, day of the week, or resident demand.

Among the standout venues is an indoor/outdoor dining experience built around a "Local Plate" concept, providing a dedicated platform for a local restaurant partner to bring community-sourced offerings directly to residents. It's a model that keeps the dining experience fresh, locally rooted, and genuinely connected to the world outside the community's walls.

THE FINISHED SPACE

GRAPHICS & BRANDING

Every name tells a story. Every space earns its identity.

The branding process began with a collaborative conversation with Culinesse to understand the vision for Pennswood's full dining program. For the everyday bistro, Seasons, we developed a simple, warm logo with an approachable personality to match. The tabletop story followed suit: durable melamine coordinated with the interior palette, hearth oven-ready pieces, a pop of color through ceramic coffee mugs, and playful cloth bistro napkins. Printed menus and digital menu board templates carried the Seasons mark across every touchpoint.

The flex bar called for a different energy entirely. A tapas-inspired stoneware selection in soft, muted, modern hues paired with eclectic barware, board-style servers, and mix-and-match pieces designed for both casual bites and full bar service. For the fine dining room, 1382, we developed a refined logo and entrance experience to match the elevated table service: modern textured china, satin flatware, and a tailored menu cover with a custom edible template that set the tone before the first course arrived.
